CHELSEA + JAMIE — a Spring Wedding at Pineridge Hollow

This Pineridge Hollow wedding almost didn’t happen as originally planned. Jamie and Chelsea had booked Hawthorne Estates for their big day, but a tragic fire over the winter destroyed the venue. With their date approaching quickly, the couple had to pivot — and thankfully, they found a new home for their celebration at the beautiful Pineridge Hollow.

Before the ceremony, Jamie and Chelsea opted for a first look at Aspire Studios, a well-lit indoor location in Winnipeg that gave us the perfect space for portraits despite the unpredictable May weather. Since Pineridge Hollow has limited indoor options, this plan was made in advance — and it worked out beautifully.

Their first look was heartfelt and full of anticipation, setting the tone for the rest of the day. After a few quiet moments together, we made our way out to the venue for the ceremony.

Outside the venue, a charming tent was set up for the ceremony, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. Surrounded by around 100 of their closest friends and family, Jamie and Chelsea exchanged vows in a way that was both emotional and joyful.

The love between them was palpable. As one teared up during their vows, the other followed — their emotions echoing each other in a heartfelt display of connection. There were tears, laughter, and a lot of love flowing under that tent, and it was an honor to witness and capture it all.

With the “I do’s” complete, the celebration moved into the reception tent, which was beautifully decorated with soft lighting, rustic charm, and a festive atmosphere. Guests were welcomed into a space full of warmth and laughter.

One of the highlights of the evening was the shoe game, a wedding reception favorite that always brings out the laughs. Sitting back-to-back, Jamie and Chelsea answered playful questions about each other — from “Who takes longer to get ready?” to “Who spends the most money?” The room was filled with laughter, connection, and celebration.

Jamie and Chelsea’s Pineridge Hollow wedding was a beautiful example of how love finds a way. What began as a stressful setback turned into a heartfelt, unforgettable day full of meaning and magic. From emotional vows to the cozy reception tent, every moment was filled with love, gratitude, and joy.

Before heading to the ceremony, we took advantage of the beautiful urban architecture. We stepped into the Millennium Centre, a favorite downtown photo location with its grand staircase and dramatic lighting. These portraits added a touch of elegance and intimacy to the day, and gave Karen and David a moment to pause together before the celebrations began.

On the way to the venue, we made one more very important stop. Karen visited her late father’s resting place to pay tribute to him. His absence was felt deeply throughout the day — a quiet but powerful presence. His memory was honored in thoughtful ways, with photos and video, and later during the reception, Karen shared a father-daughter dance with her brother. It was one of the most emotional moments of the evening, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

The ceremony was held outside under the golden winter sun. Despite the chill in the air, the atmosphere was filled with warmth, joy, and heartfelt emotion. As Karen and David exchanged vows, the setting sun cast a dreamy glow over the entire scene — the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

With the ceremony ending just as the sun dipped behind the trees, we dashed outside for a final set of golden hour portraits. The light was soft and cinematic, and Karen and David absolutely glowed. These final portraits of the day were some of the most romantic I’ve captured this season.

Later, at the reception, family and friends gathered to celebrate with laughter, dancing, and heartfelt toasts. Karen and David were surrounded by love and support, and the day felt like a beautiful close to not only their wedding but also my wedding season.

This Bridges Golf Course wedding was a blend of beauty, bittersweet emotion, and radiant joy. Karen and David’s love — and the love surrounding them — made this winter wedding truly unforgettable. I’m so grateful to have been part of it, and to help preserve memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
