KAREN + DAVID — a Winter Wedding at Bridges Golf Course

This Bridges Golf Course wedding was nothing short of spectacular — a winter celebration filled with emotion, sunshine, and deep connection. It was also my final wedding of the season, and the excitement, nerves, and anticipation had been building for days. With a mix of caffeine and adrenaline, I arrived early at Karen’s hotel, where the girls were getting ready. The energy in the room was high, and the day ahead felt full of promise.

Karen and David’s first look took place downtown in Winnipeg’s iconic Exchange District, with their backs to each other just before the big reveal. As they turned around and locked eyes, their faces lit up with the kind of pure, joyful expression that makes moments like these unforgettable. Their excitement was contagious — it was clear they were more than ready to begin this next chapter.

Before heading to the ceremony, we took advantage of the beautiful urban architecture. We stepped into the Millennium Centre, a favorite downtown photo location with its grand staircase and dramatic lighting. These portraits added a touch of elegance and intimacy to the day, and gave Karen and David a moment to pause together before the celebrations began.

On the way to the venue, we made one more very important stop. Karen visited her late father’s resting place to pay tribute to him. His absence was felt deeply throughout the day — a quiet but powerful presence. His memory was honored in thoughtful ways, with photos and video, and later during the reception, Karen shared a father-daughter dance with her brother. It was one of the most emotional moments of the evening, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

The ceremony was held outside under the golden winter sun. Despite the chill in the air, the atmosphere was filled with warmth, joy, and heartfelt emotion. As Karen and David exchanged vows, the setting sun cast a dreamy glow over the entire scene — the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

With the ceremony ending just as the sun dipped behind the trees, we dashed outside for a final set of golden hour portraits. The light was soft and cinematic, and Karen and David absolutely glowed. These final portraits of the day were some of the most romantic I’ve captured this season.

Later, at the reception, family and friends gathered to celebrate with laughter, dancing, and heartfelt toasts. Karen and David were surrounded by love and support, and the day felt like a beautiful close to not only their wedding but also my wedding season.

This Bridges Golf Course wedding was a blend of beauty, bittersweet emotion, and radiant joy. Karen and David’s love — and the love surrounding them — made this winter wedding truly unforgettable. I’m so grateful to have been part of it, and to help preserve memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
