Noor + Noah | The Leaf Wedding

Noor + Noah | The Leaf Assiniboine Park Wedding

Noor and Noah’s wedding week was the perfect blend of cultures, emotions, and unforgettable moments. Their story unfolded across Winnipeg — from joyful pre-wedding celebrations at home to a beautiful Sikh ceremony at Gurdwara Singh Sabha and an elegant summer reception at The Leaf in Assiniboine Park.

The Pre-Wedding Festivities

The celebrations began at Noor’s family home, where each day was filled with colour and energy. The week kicked off with her Mehndi day — hands adorned with intricate henna, music in the air, and laughter echoing through the house. The next morning brought the Haldi ceremony, a cheerful blur of yellow as family and friends covered Noor in turmeric paste, blessing her for the journey ahead.

That same day, Noor’s Choora ceremony took place, surrounded by emotional hugs and proud smiles from her loved ones. But the highlight of the pre-wedding events was the Sangeet — a night full of dance, music, and a Jaggo procession that took over the front street. With dhol beats, singing, and flashing lights, the celebration embodied pure Punjabi joy, setting the tone for the days to come.

The Sikh Wedding Ceremony

Their wedding ceremony took place at Gurdwara Singh Sabha Winnipeg, where tradition met emotion in the most graceful way. Noor looked stunning in a deep coral lehenga, beautifully embroidered with gold detailing, while Noah looked regal in an ivory sherwani and red turban.

As they circled the Guru Granth Sahib during the Anand Karaj, surrounded by friends and family, the love and calm between them filled the entire room. It was a serene, heartfelt ceremony that marked the beginning of their new chapter together.

Portraits at The Leaf

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their bridal party made their way to The Leaf at Assiniboine Park for portraits. The lush greenery and soft sunlight created the perfect summer backdrop.

Laughter filled the air as the bridal party surprised Noah by stealing his shoes — a playful Punjabi tradition that led to plenty of negotiation and laughter. A few moments later, a champagne bottle popped open, spraying in celebration as everyone cheered — a spontaneous, joy-filled moment that perfectly captured the energy of the day.

The Emotional Doli Ceremony

Back at Noor’s home, the Doli ceremony was filled with tears and embraces as Noor’s family bid her farewell. It was one of those quiet, powerful moments that remind you of the deep love and emotion that weddings hold. As Noor stepped into the car, the golden evening light painted a picture of both joy and bittersweet goodbyes.

Reception at The Leaf

The following day, the celebrations continued with a beautiful reception at The Leaf in Assiniboine Park. Before the event, we explored the English Garden, capturing timeless portraits of Noor and Noah in the soft afternoon light. Noor’s white, beaded outfit shimmered delicately, while Noah looked sharp in a classic black suit — the perfect contrast against the natural greens around them.

Bride and Groom Dance during The Leaf Wedding

The reception itself was full of warmth and laughter. Heartfelt speeches from family and friends brought the room to tears and smiles, and Noor stole the show with her own emotional and witty thank-you speech — joking about her love for long speeches before delivering one that had everyone laughing and tearing up at once.

When the lights dimmed and the first dance began, the couple swayed under the spotlight as their loved ones watched on. Later, they slipped outside for a few quiet night portraits — a soft silhouette against the glow of The Leaf — the perfect ending to an extraordinary week.
