Winter Engagement Session
This was a fun winter engagement session between Jamie, Chelsea, and their cute fury baby. An engagement shoot in winter can seem like a good idea but it’s Winnipeg and it could be freezing cold. For instance, the second wedding I ever shot was a -40 wedding and I almost had my fingers fall off.
So with that said, I started out in their home as they made some coffee and just relaxed. Engagement shoots can be wherever you like and if your home is a meaningful place where you spend a lot of time together then perfect. It also helped that it was winter time and they were cozy and comfortable inside as well.
Jamie and Chelsea have an amazing connection together and I didn’t have to say much to have them connect. Therefore, making these photographs of them was so easy. They’re so genuinely in love and their wedding day would be so emotional I can tell.

What’s a winter engagement session without a snowball fight? Playing around with the elements around you can be fun when you’re doing a shoot like this. For instance, using leaves in the fall or tossing flower petals in the summer. You can get tons of ideas on Pinterest on different ideas for engagement sessions in winter or whatever season you desire.
Winter Engagement
Another great idea is a drone shot from up above in a forest or doing snow angles. I remember when one of my brides went skating down the red river on her wedding day.
I can also think of doing underwater shoots in a pool, possibly a destination wedding. So the ideas are endless and you should always have fun instead of just posing for photos. Enjoy these and contact me today if you’re interested in some cool, fun photos for you to enjoy on your wall.
