Whitetail Meadow Reception

Singh Sabha Gurdwara Wedding

This wedding at Singh Sabha and reception at Whitetail Meadow was just beautiful and had a lot of familiar faces because just the year before I photographed Justyn’s sisters wedding. So it was really nice to see the family and friends again. Not only that, some of the guests I had previously photographed just before the wedding. Reethu and Jessie met me in Banff Canada to do a shoot there which turned out amazing which you can see here soon.

I also hope you don’t mind the random order of these photos. I thought I’d play around with that and I think it breaks everything up visually making it more interesting.

Now back to this wedding which was at Singh Sabha Gurdwara and a venue that I photograph often in. Justyn and Sumeet’s are two people very much in love and their affection towards each other is just wonderful to photograph. I didn’t have to give too much direction as they’re just naturally touchy feely with each other. With that said you have to see their engagement photos after you’re done with this post.

This wedding started out with some fun pre-wedding events such at the Henna, Sangeet and Jaggo.

The ceremony at Singh Saba Gurdwara was short and sweet with lots of smiles between Justyn and Sumeet. They were super excited to get married, especially after Covid which slowed everything down for every couple.

The reception was at a place that I’m very familiar with as I’ve shot at Whitetail Meadow plenty of times. Sumeet got ready there and so did Justyn as most couples do in the little yellow house on the property. I had a little bit of time before guests arrived to take some portraits around the venue. The couple was very flexible and cooperative getting into a boat and to paddle in the lake on the property. You can imagine the risks that is involved in that such as getting dirty or the worst nightmare sinking lol.

However the reward was amazing to get this beautiful photo for them at Whitetail Meadow.

I had a drone above them for a beautiful photo which didn’t unfortunately turn out. Because the power lines close by kept cutting off my signal to take the picture which was super frustrating because that image would have been beautiful and unique. So I’ll have to give that one another try with another couple one day at Whitetail Meadow.

Sunset Photo

I find this venue terrific for small to medium sized weddings and parties because everything you need is right there. Now if you had bad weather you might just be confined to the small yellow house for photos but the light in there is amazing. You’d still get some decent amount of photos if that were the case. Thankfully on this day we got some beautiful photos outdoors for this couple at Whitetail Meadow and at Birdshill Park on their wedding day.

If you’re getting married or having a reception at Whitetail Meadow I’d highly recommend using the doc for some photos at sunset or at night. The couple really loved this one at the end of the night.

Justyn and Sumeet didn’t use a wedding planner and did everything themselves. If you’re doing the same I’d suggest doing some research and I have lots of great tips and resources on this site. Furthermore, if you want a great wedding planner check out Emma, she’s great. I’ve also worked with great decorators and planners like Sacha who does an amazing job designing spaces.
