Brooks & Alissa’s Magical Fort Garry Hotel Wedding – A Timeless Love Story

This beautiful Fort Garry Hotel wedding took place on a beautiful spring day in the heart of Winnipeg. I met Alissa just down the street from the iconic hotel where the brides were getting their hair done. As I entered I felt the atmosphere buzzing with chatter and saw the girls with champagne glasses laughing it up. Right after the hair salon on Fort st, I rushed out in front of them to get them walking up to the hotel. This is where they would finish getting ready together before the ceremony.

Getting Ready

I have to say that Brooks really reminds me of Hemingway in away. He has a very stoic attitude and gentlemen’s type of style that you won’t come across to often. I really enjoyed his sense of humour and mannerisms that I was able to capture. With that said, I saw Alissa laugh and smile with him constantly because of what a character he is. A common theme among many bride and grooms that I see. I guess it’s the most attractive thing about a person is if they can make you laugh, right?

After getting ready the beautiful couple saw each other for the first time before the ceremony. This allowed us to get some portraits before the wedding ceremony because we didn’t have much time after. There were some lovely moments between them that I captured from a distance as you can see during this first look.

With the first look done we went outside while the sun was still shining and got some more photos. As I said before it was still a beautiful day, however things were going to change and we didn’t know when. So we got a few portraits done and continued onto the Fort Garry Hotel wedding ceremony.

The Fort Garry Hotel has a very classic style which fit Brook’s and Allisa’s personalities perfectly. With that said, the ceremony was beautiful as the bright day shined in through the windows. This allowed a great balance of the character in the hotel without it being too dark. For instance, you can see below with the couple having great light on them with the classic room behind them.

This Fort Garry Hotel Wedding Ceremony had such a beautiful vibe about it. It was a perfect mix of the coupes love, their up beat energy, sense of humour and this gorgeous hotel. Lastly, it was a beautiful sunny day as well, which beamed through the windows adding another layer of warmth.

With the first kiss sealing the deal the guests gave a roaring applause afterwards to the newly weds. Right after that the couple headed back down the aisle where I caught another great expression of Brooks.

The reception was coming up next where the speeches drew tons of laughs and some tears. Like here, Alissa’s mom couldn’t hold it in while looking at a video slideshow of the couple.

The reception overall was brilliant as it was filled with ton’s of dancing and emotions. Which closed this wedding story off perfectly.

I’m super grateful that Brooks and Alissa trusted me to capture their special day and all their beautiful moments. This beautiful Fort Garry Hotel wedding is one that I’ll definitely remember for a very long time.
