Beautiful Edmonton Engagement Shoot
Edmonton Engagement Shoot – Shaminder & Jasmin
A Stylish Urban Session After a Weekend of Celebrating
After wrapping up a stunning weekend shooting in Banff and photographing Navi and Jessica’s wedding celebrations, I made a quick trip to Edmonton — and I’m so glad I did. On a quiet Sunday afternoon in April, I reunited with Shaminder and Jasmin for their Edmonton engagement shoot, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.
Coming from Winnipeg, where winter was holding on way too long and spring felt like one endless rainstorm, the sunshine and warmth in Alberta felt like a much-needed reset.
From Banff to an Edmonton Engagement Shoot – A Reunion with Familiar Faces
You might recognize this beautiful couple from their Banff engagement session just a few days earlier. We had gone on a bit of a mountain adventure together, chasing scenic views and creating unforgettable images (which you can check out here).
So when we met again for their engagement shoot in Edmonton, the connection was already there. That familiarity helped the session feel relaxed and natural. They trusted the process, felt totally comfortable, and leaned into the experience — which always shows in the photos.
A Rooftop and a Cocktail Bar? Yes, Please.
We kicked off the session on a sunlit parkade rooftop, soaking in the golden light. Edmonton has its share of hidden gems, and this was one of them — wide open skyline, clean lines, and just the right amount of breeze to bring movement into the shots.
From there, we made our way to Alchemy, a beautifully designed cocktail bar that Shaminder and Jasmin had scouted. It was the perfect contrast to the outdoors — intimate, modern, and full of personality. The textures, moody lighting, and cozy atmosphere gave their Edmonton engagement shoot a fresh, editorial feel that balanced out their more nature-forward Banff session.
Why Do an Edmonton Engagement Shoot?
Choosing an Edmonton engagement shoot is a great idea for couples who want a mix of urban charm, greenery, and modern architecture. There’s such a variety of backdrops within the city — from stylish indoor spots like cocktail lounges and art galleries, to parks, bridges, and historic neighborhoods.
Another bonus? It’s less crowded than some other big cities, which makes it easier for couples to relax — something that makes a huge difference when you want those natural, candid moments to shine through.
For Shaminder and Jasmin, this session was a perfect complement to their Banff shoot. It allowed them to showcase another side of their personalities while building a diverse gallery they’ll be proud to look back on for years to come.
Looking Ahead
We wrapped up their Edmonton engagement shoot feeling inspired and full of good energy. This was such a special day — and such a great way to break free from the usual, well-worn Winnipeg locations. Sessions like this remind me why I love travel photography so much.
This Alberta trip has me already thinking about where to go next — Jasper, maybe? Or somewhere even more unexpected? I’d love to head back to Edmonton again soon for another engagement shoot. If you’re a couple looking for something unique, this is a great city to explore together.
Final Thoughts
This engagement shoot in Edmonton with Shaminder and Jasmin was filled with all the right ingredients — meaningful locations, perfect weather, and a couple whose love and comfort with each other made the entire shoot effortless.
I hope you enjoy the images we created that day — and from the week before in Banff. There’s plenty more to come on the blog as the 2025 wedding season unfolds. With the world opening back up and love stories back in motion, I can’t wait to keep sharing these beautiful moments.
If you’re planning your own Edmonton engagement shoot, or thinking of taking your session somewhere new and exciting — I’d love to help you plan something unforgettable.
