Khurram +Sana
This was a beautiful two-day Brandon wedding, where I was hired by the couple from South Carolina.
Khurram and Sana met in New York while both attending medical school some years back. Sana’s hometown is in Brandon and they decided to have there wedding here and the Walima ( Reception ) in Greenville South Carolina.
It was my first wedding in Brandon and a number of years since I’ve visited the sister city of Winnipeg. It actually has some beautiful spots and has grown quite a bit since I last visited.
This wedding was entertaining and fun. The religious ceremony was already done before so we basically had the Mendhi (Henna Night) and the Ring Ceremony on the second day. The first day there were performances followed by an improv act and more dancing with lasers and a smoke show. There was a slideshow played with funny messages and well wishes from friends and family that brought out a lot of laughs.
While the second day, they had some funny and heartfelt speeches for the bride and groom along with the traditional cake cutting and the first dance. They were also sent off with confetti and glow lights at the end of the night.
The most memorable moments for me had to be their connection. You can just see how deeply in love these two are. Khurram’s speech drew a lot of tears from the audience and the quiet moments Sana and Khurram shared together were truly touching, such as the second and third last photo.

It was truly a pleasure to get to know these two. My next wedding has a very similar story with the couple meeting in medical school and living in the US. I can’t wait to share that one too.
