Club Regent Casino Wedding – Bhag and Sonya
Earlier this year, I had the honor of photographing Bhag and Sonya’s incredible Club Regent Casino Wedding. Their Sikh wedding and reception were full of energy, color, and deep emotion, perfectly capturing what makes multi-day celebrations so unforgettable. From the Mehndi to the Sangeet, the Maiyaan, Jaggo, and finally the wedding and reception, every event carried its own magic and vibrancy.
A Week Full of Traditions
The celebrations began with the Mehndi, where laughter filled the room as intricate henna designs were applied to Sonya’s hands. This was followed by lively Sangeet and Jaggo nights, which turned into spirited evenings of dancing, singing, and fun. Family and friends filled the space with music and joy, showcasing how strong the bonds within this community truly are.
The Maiyaan ceremonies were equally special. Bright turmeric paste was playfully applied to both Sonya and Bhag, filling the air with laughter and good-natured teasing. These moments reminded me how weddings are not only about two people coming together, but also about families embracing each other through traditions that span generations.
The Wedding Ceremony
When the wedding day arrived, the anticipation was high. The bridal party set the tone early with incredible energy. They had rented a limo bus that became its own mobile dance floor, bouncing with excitement and music as they made their way to the ceremony.
As Sonya stepped into her stunning red bridal attire, she was radiant, even though she often shies away from the camera. What struck me most was how effortlessly beautiful she looked, not just in her attire, but in the way Bhag looked at her. There were countless fleeting moments when he seemed to get lost in her presence, and those quiet glances were some of the most magical to capture.
The ceremony itself was heartfelt and spiritual. With family and friends gathered in reverence, Bhag and Sonya exchanged vows steeped in Sikh tradition. The atmosphere was powerful—every prayer, every step around the Guru Granth Sahib carried deep meaning, connecting them to their families and their faith.
Portraits and Playful Energy
After the ceremony, we made our way outdoors for portraits. One of my favorite moments was when Bhag and Sonya spun together on top of a hill, while their wedding party cheered them on from the sidelines. It was such a joyful scene, perfectly blending romance with playful energy. These kinds of moments show how much support and love surrounds a couple on their wedding day.
Adding to the fun were the door games, which were as raucous as they were entertaining. Guests roared with laughter as one participant applied lipstick while blindfolded, and when Bhag sank a basketball shot on a moving hoop, the cheers could be heard from all around. These lighthearted traditions gave the wedding its own unique flavor, keeping everyone smiling from start to finish.

That evening, the celebration shifted into full gear at the Club Regent Casino Wedding reception. The venue was beautifully decorated, with each table thoughtfully lit to create an elegant, intimate atmosphere. The lighting and sound team at Club Regent Casino always do a fantastic job, and this night was no exception—the ambiance was perfect for capturing unforgettable memories.
Bhag and Sonya wowed everyone with their choreographed first dance. Moving gracefully across the floor with spins and embraces, they radiated joy as guests clapped and cheered. The choreography reflected their personalities—fun, romantic, and completely in sync.
The reception continued with heartfelt speeches, including a few hilarious roasts about Bhag’s famously perfect eyebrows. Laughter filled the room, blending seamlessly with touching words of love and congratulations.
When the dance floor opened, it turned into an epic party. Friends and family danced with boundless energy, and the celebration carried on late into the night. The combination of music, laughter, and movement made for the perfect conclusion to such an extraordinary week.
