Exciting & Tearful Ashgrove Acres Wedding
Adonis + Elaine’s Joyful Ashgrove Acres Wedding
Adonis and Elaine are the kind of couple every photographer dreams of working with—full of life, always laughing, and deeply in love. I was lucky enough to be connected with them through a close group of friends, and from our first meeting, I knew their wedding day would be something special.
Their Ashgrove Acres Wedding took place just outside Winnipeg, in the quiet town of Niverville. This rustic and scenic venue, Ashgrove Acres, is a perfect place for couples who want a blend of nature and charm. On this particular day, the sun was in full force. It was blazing hot—so much so that guests came prepared with sun umbrellas and were quick to grab any shady spot they could find during the ceremony. Despite the heat, the vibe was relaxed and joyful, which perfectly reflected Adonis and Elaine’s personalities.
Before heading to the venue, Adonis and Elaine had their first look at Barn Hammer, a cozy and local brewery managed by Elaine’s brother. It was a meaningful and relaxed setting for such an emotional moment. And let’s be honest, is there a better way to start a wedding than surrounded by great craft beer and good vibes? Their energy was infectious, and I could already tell the rest of the day was going to be full of laughter and candid moments.
After that intimate first look and some beers, we made our way to Ashgrove Acres Wedding Venue, where the real fun began. Their massive wedding party—who may or may not have been a little tipsy by this point—brought all the energy. We explored the grounds for portraits, taking advantage of the tall grass, quiet tree-lined paths, and wide-open fields that surrounded the venue. Ashgrove offers so many peaceful corners that it’s easy for couples to sneak away and just breathe in the moment together.
Wedding Ashgrove Acres
The Ceremony at this Ashgrove Acres wedding was beautiful. It was full of laughter, joy and even some tears. You can really see the pure emotion in Adonis and Elaine’s face through out the ceremony and how beautiful it was. I love the little happy dance that Adonis did after the first kiss, It made everyone laugh.
As the evening rolled in, the celebration continued with one of the most heartwarming moments of the day. Adonis surprised everyone—including me—when he pulled out a guitar during the reception and sang a song for Elaine. It was raw, emotional, and incredibly touching. I had no idea he could sing, let alone play the guitar so beautifully. It was a moment that none of us will forget.
The rest of the evening was equally unforgettable at this Ashgrove Acres Wedding. Friends and family followed up with more live singing, adding to the intimate, communal feel of the evening. And then came a traditional Filipino highlight—the money dance followed by the hilarious de-pantsing ceremony, where the groom’s pants are dramatically ripped off by the groomsmen after tossing the garter. If you’ve never seen this tradition before, just imagine equal parts chaos and laughter.
From start to finish, Adonis and Elaine were a dream to photograph. Not only are they ridiculously photogenic, but their connection to each other is so effortless. They couldn’t stop smiling, cracking jokes, or sneaking loving glances at one another, which made every candid frame feel alive and real.
This Ashgrove Acres Wedding was everything a summer celebration should be—fun, meaningful, personal, and surrounded by people who genuinely love and support the couple. I’m beyond grateful to have captured it all.
